The New Generation Two Bed Deionisers consist of FRP pressure vessels containing ion exchange resins (commonly referred to as cation and anion exchange resins). The vessels are provided with strainers at the bottom. This not only ensures the exchangers are retained within the vessels but also uniform distribution, flow of water and regenerant takes place in the unit. The unit is fitted with all the necessary plastic piping and individual plastic ball valve for carrying out the various operations like service, injection and rinse. Regenerant tanks, one each for acid and caustic soda are provided from which measured quantities of regenerant solutions are injected into the unit by means of hydraulic ejectors. A conductivity indicator with cell is provided for continuous measurement of treated water purity.

The two bed deioniser units can be supplied with optional extra equipment such as a degasser to handle certain types of raw water with high amount of alkalinity. The cation exchanger converts alkalinity present in raw water to its equivalent acid, i.e. carbonic acid. The anion exchanger absorbs this along with other acids in cation exchanger treated water. Where water has a high alkalinity the ionic load on the anion can be brought down by using another method to remove carbonic acid. Carbonic acid is unstable and readily breaks down into carbon dioxide and water. The carbon dioxide can be removed mechanically by means of a degasser.

The NG series of two bed deionisers are attractive, compact, easy to install and operate. There are eight ranges of a DM plant, starting from 2.5 m3/h - 15 m3/h flow rate.

The NG series of degasser systems are also very attractive, compact, easy to install & operate. There are four ranges of degasser plant, starting from 2 m3/h - 6 m3/h flow rate.

  • Plastic constitutes a major portion of materials of construction. The pressure vessel is made of fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) and the pipes of poly vinyl chloride (PVC).

Manual & Auto Mixed Bed (MB) Units

INDION New Generation Mixed Bed Deionisers are designed to produce high purity demineralisedwater required by the pharmaceutical, electronics and other industries. These deionisers can be used either as polishing units after two bed deionisers or as a single unit to obtain high purity water. Mixed bed deionisers are single column units, filled with a mixture of a strong acid cationand strong base anion exchange resins. Dissolved solids in the water are thus removed, producing water of a very highpurity.
